As part of ongoing infrastructure and support operations, we are looking for a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Solution Architect to support solution design, assessment, and implementation activities across enterprise RHEL environments.
Required Qualifications:
Manage activities related to solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation
Review business context for client challenges and identify solution requirements
Develop and execute solutions to reduce reactive support activities
Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options
Provide analysis of security considerations for proposed solutions
Communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Conduct current-state technical assessments of RHEL environments
Identify EOS exposure, application dependencies, and upgrade blockers
Develop lifecycle extension, consolidation, or decommissioning recommendations
Assess OS-level impact on application stability, performance, and supportability
Required Profile
10+ years of hands-on experience with RHEL across technical domains
Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
Deep hands-on experience administering and architecting RHEL 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 environments
Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux lifecycle, EOS implications, and Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS)
Expertise in core RHEL services including systemd, networking, storage, and identity integration
Strong experience with RPM, YUM, and DNF package management
Experience with user, group, and privilege management including sudo and PAM
Experience supporting RHEL workloads in VMware vSphere and KVM environments
Understanding of SAN/NAS storage architectures, LVM, and high-availability design
Strong knowledge of RHEL security hardening and baseline configuration
Familiarity with SELinux, firewall management, legacy protocol exposure, and CVE risk assessment
Ability to assess platform dependencies and constraints impacting lifecycle extension strategies
Understanding of RHEL as a foundational platform for enterprise applications and middleware
Knowledge of Red Hat subscription economics, entitlement models, and vendor support structures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Broad understanding of information technology topics
Collaborative and flexible approach in fast-paced environments
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
