Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and testing of digital control systems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system
  • Develop VHDL code to support FPGA-based designs; be proficient in simulating and debugging design in code and on circuit board
  • Write detailed technical design documentation and test procedures
  • Test and verify designs to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements
  • Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation
  • Development and execution of code and test procedures working in a regulated environment
  • Work within an embedded development environment requiring understanding of both computer hardware and software
  • Leverage knowledge of digital design techniques and communication standards to ensure a quality product

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree within appropriate Engineering/Science discipline
  • 5 years of experience on FPGA development including VHDL logic design, simulation, and testing on hardware
  • Circuit board and FPGA troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Waukesha, WI location

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • 10 years of experience on FPGA development
  • Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating and driving closure of a product/program
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Design experience with Altera’s Quartus Design Software
  • Design experience with QuestaSim
